A Father's Day Story with Pacific Northwest Roots

Did you know Father's Day actually started right here in the Pacific Northwest? The first Father's Day celebration was held in Spokane, Washington, in 1910 after Sonora Smart Dodd wanted to honor her father, a Civil War veteran who raised six children on his own. What began as one daughter's tribute eventually grew into the national holiday we celebrate today.

As a family-owned business serving Southwest Washington, we love knowing that one of America's favorite family holidays has roots right here in our corner of the country.
